Alex shook his head. “No wait! I wanna be with daddy!” He protested trying to move closer to the red head.

Hans put his hands on his hips and gave his son a stern look. “Weren’t you the one who said you wanted to eat dinner, mister?”

Alex pouted and crossed his arms, Elsa peered at Hans, “Why does it matter so much for us to go to dinner?”

  • Friend: why are you crying?
  • Me: I'm just so beautiful

Elsa nodded and kept walking with him, “Alright.” She smiled. “We’ll wait with you.”

Hans smiled politely at his wife and handed her their son. “Ill be just a moment.  You can start on dinner without me if Alex is still so hungry, I don’t mind.”

Alex shook his head. “No wait! I wanna be with daddy!” He protested trying to move closer to the red head.

Elsa frowned and took Alex’s hand as he was set on the ground, she followed him curiously. “What for?”

"There’s a meeting with some dignitaries from the South tomorrow evening.  I need to make sure the rooms have been prepared,"  Hans quickly concocted, remembering the meeting the following day.

Elsa nodded and kept walking with him, “Alright.” She smiled. “We’ll wait with you.”

Elsa walked with them, slowly and carefully walking down the stairs, one hand on the railing while the other was on her back. She chuckled as Alex continued to ask his father questions, and make up stories.

Hans did his best to clear his mind of persistently returning worry.  He played into his son’s dramatically overblown stories, finding them rather innocent and imaginative, as well as a thankful distraction.

"Six cookies?  Really?”

Elsa sighed as she got off the last step, and smiled at a few servants who had been cleaning or lighting candles.

Hans let his eyes drift away from his son, sighing longingly as he looked down the hall that led to the cellar.

“…I need to speak to one of the servants.”

Elsa frowned and took Alex’s hand as he was set on the ground, she followed him curiously. “What for?”
